UH-1 Bell Huey Flight Sim Day 3
More cleaning, Removing access panels so they can be cleaned up and repainted. I also spent some time today removing old hydraulic lines and hardware that is no-longer needed and doing a little rust removal prep work.
UH-1 Bell Huey Flight Sim arrives at the shop
Today were glad to see that the simulator arrived safe to the shop. Now it’s time to get are hands dirty and clean out the inside. It was sitting outside for awhile and has some water damage that we need to take care of first. We need to start making plans on how we will convert this 1973 Army UH-1 Flight Simulator to run on all new electronics even though it was upgraded in 1993. Part of the plan is to remove it from it’s full motion simulator base and lose about 1000 lbs of weight. Also we are currently thinking of using three 4k laser projects to give it around a 270 degrees of viewing. We will run some calculations on that after we get it digitized into a 3d model. We now have it sitting on temporary caster so we can move it around.
